Hello everyone and welcome to December! I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that 2021 is coming to an end. This year has been one for the books for Shannon Castaneda Photography so many reasons! I attended my first equine photography networking event back in March and had the opportunity to meet and work with so many among photographers around the country! Here are my top photos from each of the sessions:
I was also fortunate enough to continue to grow my client base despite all of craziness going on in the world. I have so many amazing clients and am so thankful they have chosen me to be their equine photographer and capture their treasured memories! Here are a few of my favorites shots from throughout the year:
I also completed my final year as the official photographer for the Sunshine State Open Pleasure Show. My decision to move on from this show was one of the hardest I have ever had to make for my business. Sue welcomed me with open arms back in 2017 when the circuit started at Canterbury. Three and a half years later I will never be able to thank her for all of the experience and life long relationships I have gained. Here are some of my favorites from the 2021 show series:
Another amazing experience was photographing the 911 ceremony at the September show. The firemen and police officer joined us at the Florida Horse Park in remembrance of the lives that were lost on September 11th 20 years ago. The emotion around the arena that morning drew tears to my eyes while taking these photos:
The biggest driver behind moving on from being Sue's official photographer is my husband and I just opened a new business named Castaneda Sport Horses and welcomed a 16.3 4 1/2 year old Oldenburg named Charming ROF to the family on October 15, 2021. Charming is the horse I will be training over the next year or two and I look forward to getting him in the show ring next year! Here are a few photos of the sweet boy and I:
Another big update I am excited to share is my husband and I's dream of living on a farm is starting to come to life! We spent last weekend in Ocala exploring the new World Equstrian Center and checking out a few properties for sale in the area. The last piece of land we looked at was 21.66 cleared acres with big grad daddy oaks spread throughout in Morrison just 15 minutes from the World Equestrian Center and 5 minutes from HITS. We are getting prequalified this week and hope to make our offer ASAP! I look forward to sharing more information on this soon. For now here are a few shots of where we hope to be living within the next 3-4 years!
Thanks for stopping by to check in on what SCP has been up to this year! Stay tuned as I have a couple major announcements to share as we roll into 2022! Happy Holidays everyone :)
